Brief: The 2021 AAF Birmingham ADDY Awards celebrated the best in creative excellence, recognizing the innovative work that pushed boundaries in advertising, design, and marketing. As the ADDY Chair, my goal was to create an unforgettable experience that honored the talent and dedication of our industry while fostering a sense of community and inspiration. From bold campaigns to cutting-edge digital work, this year’s winners showcased the power of creativity to connect, engage, and drive impact.
This was the first ADDY Awards that took place during the COVID-19 Pandemic, requiring a virtual presentation with online interactivity as well as small, local agency watch parties integrated into the programing.
Our strategy focused on elevating the prestige of the ADDYs through a seamless event experience, strong industry engagement, and dynamic storytelling. We leveraged a mix of digital promotion, social media highlights, and strategic partnerships to build excitement and ensure broad participation. The awards ceremony itself was designed to be both a celebration and a platform for networking, bringing together top agencies, brands, and creative professionals to honor the best work of the year. Success was reflected in the energy of the event, the enthusiasm of our winners, and the engagement of our creative community. By amplifying the reach of the ADDYs and positioning them as the premier industry recognition in Birmingham, we strengthened our commitment to championing creativity and raising the bar for excellence in advertising and design.
